Like the recent definition of "literally" to mean "metaphorically".

Misusing and distorting the meaning of words has been a favorite Republican tactic since Luntz and Gingrich's Contract with America.

Using 'lie' for any and every disagreement or disputed point helps helps maintain the rage and sense of grievance they rely on to motivate their base. And fools like q-node and Thomas lap it all up it seems.
