I have a first-hand personal experience that counts as one. I have second hand experience via friends that counts many. Enough to know that if you're isolated from it you don't know about it. It's like this pandemic. I do not personally know anyone suffering from covid. My friends are all OK. That does not remotely refute the fact that there have been millions of cases. Ignorance may be an excuse for not being out there fighting for the cause. It's not directly your cause. Ignorance may excuse a lack of empathy. But ignorance is not an excuse for actively denying the broad reality to which others testify.
