Hi Jules IBM announces a 1,000 MZ PowerPC CPU

Seems it beats INTC to the market by 1 full year:

news.com

A question. I suspect INTC is not immune to competition so if INTC's margins drop will they compete with IBM in the lower margin service business ?

INTC won't just go out of business will they ? Naw...hope they will save some of today's high margin cash to buy back their stock .

Good investing,
Jim K.

Jules, another example of IBM growth in today's news article about the IBM purchase of CommQuest (repeated on CNBC later) ; IBM bought Tivoli two years ago when they were doing 50 million in revenue. Today Tivoli does 500 million. I think you bears are really missing the positive changes that are occuring in Big Blue. Clearly the revenues from the cash cow, S390 and MVS ( now known as OS/390) are not growing at the old rates but new revenues to the tune of 17 Billion over the last 5 years are coming in.

At just over a 16 PE this stock is getting ready for another ride upward.... that is only if you maintain your bearish outlook. Don't switch on me.

Regards,

Don
