[Off Topic] Steve. Don't look now, but you just endorsed diversification. You don't just invest in a single sector, do you. Today is what diversification and portfolio theory is all about. There are more than a few people going around saying that according to Buffet, you need only a few good stocks and diversification is only for those who seek mediocrity. But Berksire Hathaway is often viewed as a conglomerate or mutual fund in itself. Diversification doesn't have to extend as far as actually becoming a surrogate index, but just far enough to make it feel as if you don't get left entirely behind on days like these. In other words just far enough to make oneself feel comfortable. On an academic level, it is possible to show that diversification lowers risk while maintaining a favorable (but not the most favorable) reward potential.
