I don't think Yellen's policy announcement is remotely close to intending to target China... but also don't think it would really matter very much if it did... China's trajectory is now a function of China's choices... not others... and China is owed no unique policy preferences by others. I do expect China to have a hard time coming to grips with a world in which others are less and less concerned about their choices... as the "easy part" of integrating usefully with the developed world comes to an increasingly abrupt end.

"intends to wage war against globalization"

I'd say a better characterization would be "intends to reassert U.S. leadership in guiding globalization" on terms that the Biden team think properly respect them as the obvious leaders they believe themselves to be.

So, perhaps it will not have me posturing too much in opposition to note I think they will get the respect they deserve ?

Trump noted the globalist parade was heading out into the weeds... toward the edge of the cliffs... and, unable to stop them... decided to at least quit leading them onward and go over the cliff with them... and so he just disbanded the whole operation. Now, given a field full of cats wandering around aimlessly... Biden thinks he'll get the parade reformed and call the march ?

But, once the band stopped playing... the spell was broken... and a lot of the cats figured out the parade wasn't a parade... but a march to the gulag ? Biden policy looks a lot more like Trump policy without Trump than it looks like Obama policy without Obama... for a lot of very good reasons... The narrative that Trump was really, really bad for the world... seems it is an opinion now shared mostly by American Democrats...

Everyone else is more or less aghast at the transparent criminality of the "election" fraud... never mind the corruption exposed before it... and otherwise will remain unwilling to subject themselves to the same risks of a corrupt controlled media as imposed by the pro-globalist party in the U.S. I think what you will see in result is ongoing cooperation where it is already entrained... a continuation of Trump policy where self interest has it make sense... and otherwise an increased willingness for others to just not care very much what either China or the U.S. thinks they ought to be doing about anything...

And, that's probably about the best you could hope for now, outside the Russia, China, Iran, Venezuela axis... although it probably won't have much impact in preventing mischief being fostered by the U.S., Russia, China, Iran, or Venezuela... given their demonstrated interest in fostering it.

The Bolsheviks in D.C. being butt hurt that they got kicked out of power in Russia... after destroying it... doesn't seem to me to be a reason to support them in fostering wars against Russia now... or in tolerating or fostering them in doing to us what they did to Russia...

But, in the balance... the entire rational world has now surrendered to understanding that the concept of communism is "non-functional"... leaving only a few delusional nut jobs in the academy and in politics sustaining a straight face while advocating for it... But, what the leaves is a reality in which the entire world, only in varying degree, has now opted for National Socialism instead of Communism as a "proper" policy.

And the only likely result of that choice... is the opportunity for re-living the history of the 1930's and 1940's.
