I think the bigger risks are... in the problem of disintermediation being a lie...

Saw that in yours today, pointing out the authorities are already questioning wallet providers... sort of basic to the current non-disintermediated crypto market function...

And, as long as my wallet has to be operated by or stored at the bank... with them knowing its contents... and not being able to protect their own interests, much less mine ?

There is ZERO obstacle to confiscation... based on whatever pretend whim they generate...

The "criminality" complaint... an obvious farce... as it should be clear the one thing all criminals really want is to ensure there is a permanently recorded register of every transaction made, ever... that they can't hide ? /s

But, the criminality on the other side... that the thugs who run governments have no obvious limits in their ability to confiscate your wealth ?

Just as the liquidity / velocity arguments apply to every economy... as officials disrupt flows and degrade unfettered free market functions with dramatic impacts on economies.... so too they devalue value... by being stupid... thinking "power first" makes power greater... rather than lesser... in every sense.
