Hello Paul, Wondering what you think Compaq with DEC will do with Alpha? Is it even possible for the Alpha to compete with the Merced in 1999 as far as market share is concerned? Forgive me for being a little paranoid, but I do continue to see interesting perspectives from various intelligent posters here on the SI threads... exchange2000.com Away from his post, there seems to be a consensus that Compaq grabbed Dec for the growing NT workforce. I have a small fear that Compaq wants to use Alpha against Intel, but I also have too strong of faith in Intel to think that this would backfire in the long run. Is it obvious that Alpha is going the way of amd or cyrix? i apologize if this has already been talked about too much. Thanks, pigboy. p.s. A friend of mine told a funny story about AMD the other day. He asked about "How good of a salesperson does one have to be to sell a dollar for fifty cents?" :-)
