If there were any high volume retail outlets for Apple in any of the chains, there may be some significant returned inventory. Though the deal itself is contraindicative of that scenario.

The Fort Smith, Arkansas Best Buy was reducing Apple Inventory by mid-December. I suspect management already knew.

There will be a concerted effort by Apple to move away from existing 603e machines as they represent the lower tier of a consolidating product line.
