I think that there is a better chance that Dow will pull up to 9000 before it even 7000, let alone 6000. The issue is that more and more money are getting into the flow of the market and more people are pumping their savings into the market. And......only a very small portion of investors go short compared with longs. The US economy is going up steadily and the bottom line is that if I am making several grands a day by long, I don't really give a damn thought about shorting stock.
I don't expect a 400% return each year. However, I am following Wade Cook's method and in less than 8 months I am doing extremely well. I believe that the #1 issue in investment is that you stick to your own rules.
I am getting a bit greedy. I expect a 1000% return this year and am close to half way near my goal. All I need to do for the rest of the year is to double my current portofolio and I believe that I can achieve that by picking good, solid stocks and alternating covered call writing and mometum play. However, my goal will be substantially lower beginning next year. I just wish by then I will have a 50-80% yearly growth rate of my portfolio.

good luck,
larry
