In the cases that I know of, those votes were done by relatives voting like they thought the dead would have voted. Not the greatest excuse, but far from the assumed "let me vote for my favored candidate because this person died".

It is a symbol for disinterest in election security. It wasn’t many, 20,000 dead on voter roles. But when someone raises that issue, in real life, you say, “This will be handled immediately.”

In government life you say, “We will get to it one day.”

It is truly pathetic. People not taking care of business. If I couldn’t do these menial tasks better than that I’d just go home.

It is very weird to me. Every bit of work I do is required to be done on a certain day. In government you just say, “I’ll get to it when I have spare time!”
