I read your comment after reading the article. I mean I understood your comment after reading. Bullish, that race is now weaponised in the war between fiats and bitcoin, and gold is not even in arena, potentially allow those engaging with better bitgold to exchange for more truegold when it is optimum time to do so While reading I felt queasy as the whole idea of group identity has always been the opposite of how I think. I know it sounds rude but I was thinking that when the shoe shine boy starts giving stock tips it's time to bail out. Gold has not joined the mania though its up 50% from the post GFC low. Investing by group identity seems to be the idea that there are riches just lying around and the group should get a piece of the get rich quick. At 1% dividend or 1% earnings yield over the market, there isn't any get rich quick. With inflation/dilution running at 10% to 20%, there's disaster coming. Either dollar goes full Zimbabwe or Volkerism and VVV reinstate. Zimbabwe seems the road taken, with Good Intentions of course. Looks like I'm going to live to see even more interesting times. 1987 was fun. Y2K a beauty. 1974 a big event. Followed by 1980. Asian contagion was a biggie. Japan's 40,000 Nikkei crash brutal = all the way to 7,000 or so. The GFC took out plenty of people. 2021 could go down in history. But maybe everyone is not yet in. Teotwawki and darkest interregnum is some time away, perhaps. But USA is losing its mind, going full 1812 Dr Strangelove by the look of it. Threatening to attack Russia. NATO is manned by girls, QWERTY, wokesters = who mistakenly fire their gun instead of taser. Russia has seen it all before. 1812, Crimea war, WW1, Barbarossa blitzkrieg. China is going full Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere and that didn't go well for Japan. Maybe China will slaughter in more kindly ways than Japan and run more orderly re-education camps. Hey, here's an idea. Why not re-enact the Charge of the Light Brigade, while driving Yank tanks to Murmansk from Norway and sending NATO in from the Baltic trio, China could take Taiwan and bits of Japan, and Philippines etc, take Hong Kong prisoner and help out Iran, Pakistan etc. NZ could take back Hawaii which was illegally annexed from Cook Islands/ Aotearoa-Zimbabwe.
