Justin, SGI definitly needs to do quite a few new hires. but first a good old stalinist purge of those whose revantionist, reactionary, ideology of big margins on a small number of machines for the few, still poison the air. they need to bring in top talent whose core beliefs are that SGI must get awsome technology into the hands and minds of everyone. it must become the common wisdom that buying a Compaq or Sun or IBM or Dell product is irresponsable and irrational when you can buy an SGI product for the same money.

<<Just out of curiosity, what assets do you think need selling?>>

Justin, <imho> any and all SGI assets are up for review, and not just on a P&L basis. Better to ask how each division fits into SGI's long term growth strategy?? Therefore, MIPS, Cray, A/W all need to be re-examined. The lay-offs, if any, could/would result from those asset sales/re-organizations.

Again, jmho... SGI needs to lighten the load.
