I actually haven't made that precise claim. My point is and has been that as you add more debt, interest rates will naturally go up because the United States becomes a poorer credit risk (this is how credit markets work). In addition, inflation will drive up COLAs which will place higher demands on lending to generate higher returns for SS and SSDI. Because both are technically insolvent by any reasonable metric. So, there is little flexibility.

We are a debtor nation and borrowing since the idiot Biden took office, wastefully, needlessly, and incompetently -- in the largest borrowing transactions in the history of the entire world from its earliest days.

Where do you people get the idea you can run a sham operation like this and just get away with it? I don't know if you have children, but if so, how do you sleep? Do you think you can just borrow trillions of dollars against the full faith and credit of the USA indefinitely?

What do you think happens when SS is broke in 10 years or so and we old people demand that young people work so WE can have OUR money but none of their tax dollars go for their OWN retirement? And Medicare on top of that? The idiot is already increasing taxes on individuals, and now you're going to increase them more?

Have you ever heard of a tax revolt?
