I watched Richie Allen the whole time he was with the Phillies.
He even put his hand thru a car headlight, which sidelined him for quite a while.
Then the Phillies traded him.

....no...... he meant Dick "don't call me Richie" Allen.................I saw him (on TV) hit a home run at Shea in the late 60s that went out at the 371 sign......but there was a light tower about 50 feet behind the fence that appeared about 100 feet high.......it looked like that ball cleared the tower................later they estimated it at well over 500 feet.

I saw Allen hit possibly the hardest ball I ever saw launched in Old Busch stadium. It was a line drive that hit the wall behind center field and looked like it was still going up.
