Combination of Netscape Application Server 2.0 and PowerSite Facilitate Rapid
Development and Deployment of Web Applications

(Nasdaq: NSCP) and Sybase, Inc. (Nasdaq: SYBS) today announced a strategic
alliance that will enable Fortune 2000 customers to quickly build complex
transactive Web applications on the, Internet, intranets or extranets.
This relationship between Netscape and Sybase provides two critical
technologies that are required to deliver enterprise-class applications on the
Web. Netscape provides one of the industry's fastest, most scaleable Internet
Application Servers, Netscape Application(R) Server 2.0. Sybase(R)
PowerSite(TM) Enterprise 1.0 provides a rich integrated Web development
environment with features specifically designed for the development of

The combination of Netscape Application Server 2.0 technology (formerly
KIVA Enterprise Server 2.0) and PowerSite, Sybase's new Web development

Netscape Application Server
