I think any business that shows strong growth and requires high volume manufacture suits 3Com down to the ground. However, take into account whether or not 3Com have the channel for the product. if it's all through distribution and retail, then great. if it's packaged with the service from the service provider, then i believe not. Also consider that 3Com is trying to make it's systems business(higher unit value, lower volume) a success and I think they will continue to struggle up against the likes of Cisco who really know how to deal with big corporates.

Oh yes, and don't forget Mr Gates' interest in this area
