I, for one, appreciate you keeping us informed. It's the knowledgeable persons, such as yourself, that can keep us from buying impecuniously.

I also just got more details about the call. I also am very disappointed to see that this disaster in not based on UB. It looks like their core products are now affected. Hard to say whether this is the bottom, IMO it could drift even lower.

I've owned NN for about 4 years now. From the beginning my biggest concern has been poor margins. Somewhere they don't seem to have a good handle on controlling costs. Now, caught in a classic product transition phase (tdm >> atm), this oversight has come back to bit us all in the a**.

I still have faith that TM has the company in the right strategic position for the long term, but he will have to take action to get costs under control. I will be a buyer once things settle down. I see the current situation as an opportunity to buy a great company at fire-sale prices.

This too will pass,

Thomas

He may well have read it. It takes quite a bit of practise to get past the Accountant-speak in those financial press releases and to separate the wheat from the chaff. Especially when you read something on-line and not on paper. I say this because, until I read your post and went back to re-read the press release, I missed the fact that these shocking earnings were excluding one-time charges . That is one of the great values of SI; when people start dissecting these releases and translating them into plain English, it increases the understanding of those of us who are part of the "the Great unwashed." Thanks.
