The New York Police Department will deploy dozens of officers to commercial districts in Manhattan as part of New York City’s push to encourage the return of workers to offices and help tourism rebound from the Covid-19 pandemic, police and city officials said.

No word yet on how that is going to happen after de Blasio defunded the police to the tune of one billion dollars.

Maybe he'll pull cops away from the anti-Asian hate crime task force.

Or he'll pull cops away from the poorer neighborhoods like Harlem, Brooklyn, and the Bronx, then feign ignorance as violent crime continues to skyrocket in those areas.

Anything and everything is possible when you're a socialist and the ends justify the means.
