Always the case on earnings week. There is a related play that I've done on covered calls, which is earlier in the month, prior to them announcing the earnings date, both the 3rd and 4th weeks of the month have high premiums. Once they announce the date, if its in the 4th week, then the 3rd week premiums drop significantly. Then you cover the shorts...
