Ed: that's perfect buying timing! I do agree that concerns about Asia exacerbated the fall in the semis. However do remember that the problems there are not yet solved. I think they will be additional tremors. However the problem was that not all the semis should have gone down as much as they did. Some were somewhat justified (an example would be ATML which has a lot of exposure and does not do as much as say LSI in custom chips - having said that ATML has looked cheap - I do not have a position in ATML), others were totally unjustified - VTSS is what appears to be the best example, ADI's another. Others like MU and TXN went down mostly because of DRAM pricing issues.

LSI per their conference call does not expect to see much fever/coughs/colds/diarrhea/vomiting/bed-rest from the Asia flu. They went down early and stayed down because of weakness first in the networking sector, then in the high-end computing sector. Their l/t future looks intact.

I know too little about TA to even give you a smidgeon of a decent answer. So I'll punt here.
