A Gentle Request to the Citizens in Cyberworld that Follow Imation: This is not of earth-shattering importance and I hope that I'm not out of line here, but I was wondering if anyone would have any objections to agreeing to close this thread (by unanimous decree) and moving it over (by simple declaration) to the already existing (but currently inert) other Imation thread which is simply entitled: Imation and can be found at: Members:Subject 10242 Nonmembers:Subject 10242 Here are my 4 reasons: 1. The typographical error in the title of this forum has left us with a forevermore misspelling of Laser Servo-120 as LC -120 instead of LS -120. 2. The name of the thread is so long that it doesn't display correctly on the title (or index) page and instead we look at a clipped version: Imation Corp and LC-120 120MB 3 1/2" Disk and 3. I think we can agree that the focus of this company's diversified future is probably not going to be rooted solely in LS-120 technology, nor is it currently its biggest revenue generator. Like most computer products this can be considered an interim product that will probably be supplanted in less than 3 years as technology rapidly advances. At that point, the title of the forum will be somewhat dated. 4. Since the number of posts at either forum is not vast, let's consolidate our gathering at a single water cooler, so to speak. So here's my humble proposal: 1. Wait 1 week to allow for the posting of any objections. 2. On February 10, 1998, assuming no outpouring of negative sentiment, post something to this effect: ---------------------------------------------------------- We have agreed to move our little forum over to: Imation Please join us with your input and interest in Imation at this address: Members:Subject 10242 Nonmembers:Subject 10242 ------------------------------------------------------------- 3. This is optional and I would appreciate your comments: Perhaps in the interest of historical perspective I could copy, and paste the 54 posts of this forum onto about 10 pages of messages at the "new" forum to allow for continuity in the flow of ideas. (Will Silicon Investor allow me to post 10 times in one day??) Does this sound OK to everybody?? Thanks for listening, Ron
