The human tragedy around the world is far from over. India currently has the spotlight that was snatched from Brazil. All of South America may be next:

The world's population is much larger than in 1918, and travel much faster. A big Petri dish for the virus to mutate.

While gold and silver pale in importance to the tragedy of the sick and the dead, if South America gets into further trouble prices are going up, unless so many folks in India die that demand declines.
