The reason there is constant talk of stopping the ability to short is because, they say, that rumors, falsehoods etc affect the value of the company.
The reason that its been nothing but talk is because shorts point to boards like the ones you frequent where rumors falsehoods affect the price of the company.

The argument is simple, if I say I think the stock is worth $1.00 the Company screams from the hilltops that the info is false, right? However if you decide or one of your compatriots states the stock is worth $670,000 a share somehow thats okay?

Because of the twofaced backflips of VSE Companies management, they want to do away with the person calling a dollar but not the one calling for $670,000 and that is why it has always been talk and nothing has ever been done, nor ever will be done!

I have made a call based on my knowledge of biotechs and the market. You may make an entirely different call. I do not harp or rant endlessly on the call. I will post evidence if it affects my call both positive and negative.

The reason I believe the article is "hot wind" is because they don't bother to pursue naked shorting and spoofing" which are the true problems with the exchanges. So they rattle their sabers elsewhere so you don't pay attention to "spoofing or naked shorting" which strangely enough can only be done by brokerages! Brokerages that the "regulators" find employment in, "after the time is up at the regulatory commissions"? No issue there, right?

Let me give you an example Stenka

ZEN people read the report referenced in a previous post , the subject was Lung Damage"

ZEN people read this as a positive thing, that GO is safe and therefore its onward and upward, right?
I read the same article and it clearly says the SIZE of the particles is important, because if they are too big, it CAN cause lung damage.

So you believe everything is fine with "no evidence" (ZEN has not stated the particle size of their GO or their 3rd party suppliers GO) but somehow when I speculate that the lack of evidence is problematic at this point, then I am the bad guy.

So either you read and accept the entire article, or you do what ZENners do which is to read the part they want to read and assume the rest does not apply to them.

So I posed 3 issues, for me the biggest issue is ZEN ordered their GO from a third party before the size of the GO particles was an issue. So to assume that the GO they got is all below the maximum size is as much a speculation as mine (no less no more) . They ordered the third party GO before particle size was an issue and they have not put out an NR saying their GO and the third parties GO has no larger particle sizes.

So whom is right? Could be you, and you are long, if so, you win! Could be people that believe what I believe and they would not be in the stock or are short, if so, they win!

This speculation does not constitute predatory shorting. Anymore than your speculation constitutes a fraud, by stating over embellished targets.

Predatory shorting is in a league of its own. A brokerage or boiler room circulates a rumor that the CEO of ZZZZZYYYY is committing fraud, and has fixed the books then they naked short the stock into oblivion is "Predatory Shorting" knowing what they are doing is a lie or fraud. That is predatory shorting.

You betting $5000 that ZZZZZ will rise to a double and you saying so on other boards, or my betting $5000 that ZZZZZ will fall to half its value is not "Predatory Shorting", its the normal "Market function"

Predatory short selling occurs when a financial institution is either (i) close to its leverage constraint (vulnerability region) or (ii) violates the leverage constraint even in the absence of short selling (constrained region).
