Karnak,

In terms of fundamentals, I would look at EDGAR and read as much of the fine print as you desire. In terms of SiGe, this is what I know.

1. SiGe is an epitaxial process where a layer of germanium is deposited on a silicon wafer to enhance electrical performance of bipolar transistors. (OK, I know more than that but it's a sufficient explanation for this forum).

2. Epitronics is in the business of providing epitaxial layers on wafers.

3. ATMI's basic business is handling special semiconductor materials. Germane, the basis for SiGe production falls squarely in that niche.

4. Lawrence Semiconductor, which ATMI just merged with, had/has significant research activities in SiGe:

5. Information from ATMI confirms that they use SiGe for some MEMS products. I assume these are the accelerometers that Lawrence Semiconductor produces. They also confirmed they are looking at wider applications, and that it is not a big jump.

All in all, I am looking forward to the next report on the 11th.
