When will Microsoft grow up? zdnet.com

I guess this one counts as a "lighter note" too. How could I resist a headline like that? Once again beating a dead horse, on Microsoft vs. Novell NDS.

Unfortunately, the only thing Microsoft has managed to do by casting doubt on future support for Novell's directory service upgrade is to come across as petty and vindictive.

And that's why we love them so.

Customers don't want to have their choice of directory service dictated to them; they want to decide for themselves.

No, no, no. The "customers" want to choose what Microsoft can strongarm the OEMs into giving to them. Or else, they want the original Win95 release, still the best seller at retail! Or something, I get confused on where it is we want to go.

Cheers, Dan.
