Croc,

I ran your orange glob in white margarine story past Grandmother D. She tells me this was done at the behest of the dairy lobby. The new-fangled margarine was anathema to that entity, and it brought about this bizarre and inconvenient packaging to ensure there would be no confusion among the colonists as to which was yucky margarine and which was divine butter.

The orange glob added no flavor, really, and upon discovering this, most people discarded it. Despite this heresy with the odious orange glob, the upstart colonists overall opted for the cheaper spread.

Ultimately, the dairy lobby threw up its hands and relented, allowing the yellow margarine on grocers' shelves. So now, as you know, we are able to buy pre-colored margarine in convenient sticks and tubs.

Now how about that retro candy store? Grandmother D will be only to happy to consult. Also, she's into designing webpages.
