<I'm sure Reggie will weigh in sometime about how Lessig has really been busted for conspiring to sue Microsoft now, but I didn't read anything like that in the story, except of course from the Microsoft spokesguy.>

Perhaps you should read Mr. Lessig's own email!

Here is something you just can't argue, MONEY!

MSFT
1995 1996 1997
Pre-Tax ROIC 32.27% 39.45% 48.83%

After-Tax ROIC 9.56% 5.79% 11.67%
After-Tax ROIC (Incl. Goodwill) 9.56% 5.79% 11.67%

In other words, when MSFT invests a dollar, they get more and more back, despite the fact that they are getting larger and larger. For the last fiscal year, they pulled nearly 50 cents out of every dollar they invested. This is approaching drug money profits, and its perfectly legal. I know this hurts the ilken:-) Cheers to the DOJ adn the ilken bureacracy, MSFT has broken 154 thanks to the prowess of thier legal acumen. Here's to 75 cent on the invested dollar in 1998.
