I note that FMC's project had Rio Tinto follow through to drill the complete package they'd planned... and my guess is that if the conductor they had identified turned out to be carbon or a diffuse smattering of iron or magnesium... they probably wouldn't have drilled more than two or three holes before calling it good...

When it got too sloppy to continue, they left the drills to overwinter on site "in case we need to do more drilling in June" ? Hmmm.

Perhaps what they found was only more of the same in lower grade copper like that found nearer surface? If that was true... there would still have to be a lot more of it in order to give the IP response they got that lured them into more drilling...

An informed guess might suggest... they found something better... and perhaps its worth the gamble...

My experience suggests "wait for it"... as if it turns out a dud you can't get that $ back... and if it turns out good... you don't actually risk or lose anything by waiting for it until after the fact...

So, hawk the news on it... and maybe time an entry later based on what the news shows...

Posted FMC along with other copper pennies on my page yesterday...

My pick of the litter is still TMQ... which is a development project vs exploration... and it has a deal like MAG Silver has with Fresnillo, only in copper, as TMQ is carried as a 50/50 JV partner with South 32... in a project with a whole lot of additional upside in the exploration still to be done...

Maybe August - September for FMC ?

They've long since reported the results of the copper tests... which actually look pretty good... but the market doesn't care ? Doesn't appear to be any real sense of urgency on the part of the partners ? But, maybe they'll do better in the short term with a find on the nickel PGE project getting ready to drill..

They qualify as "finders finding" in my calculus now... just leaving market issues and timing... When will that copper project make it through the big company pondering process... ? What's the driver in timing... or anything driving them to do anything quickly ? The downside of a big partner... is that naval gazing is a big part of their Zen-like approach to development of potentials...

But, the long term... looks very prospective... worth buying at the lows and holding long term... probably worth a trade on the upcoming exploration effort... but, will work better if / when the markets figure out the inflation isn't a problem story is BS... and metals suddenly become popular again.

The suppression effort... is what the banks have to do to survive what's coming... so Basel III etc.
