Dear Don: Sorry to know that, I understand how much more work people with diabetes have to do. As whether amylin will make life simpler for you, I am not sure. First, if you don't use insulin now, to inject another medicine daily doesn't qualify as a way to make life simpler. Second, although amylin should help most of type I patients as they don't make anylin themself anymore, type II is very complicated. The symptom may be the same, but there may be ten different reasons behind it. AMLN has shown that if sugar is infused direct into blood, amylin would provide no help; however, the same amount of sugar taken in a meal, amylin helps a great deal. It works through the stomach. My speculation is (pure speculation), it will help those patients more who do not have a very disciplined diet routine (for some, overwight is the cause of their diabetic condition) while won't help those who follow a strick diet already like yourself. I guess you have to keep up your good work.

Take care.
