The prime focus of the dossier was the Trump campaigns alleged interactions with the Russian government. The stories have been discredited since they were undercover informants working for Steele and failed to yield a successful exchange with the Trump organization. The same is true with the allegations that he intended to lift sanctions in exchange for loans from Deutsche Bank. My guess is that he would have, but we'll never know. Trump exaggerates what he proposes. He always calls them great deals. His 'great' offer on Ukraine was a lifting of sanctions in exchange for a popular referendum by all of Ukraine on Eastern Ukraine and on Crime. The two breakaway provinces would be outnumbered in the polls and effectively re-annexed by Ukraine. He also repeatedly reneges on his side of the deal. So the sanctions would likely come back. His other 'great' offer on Syria was for the US to occupy one-third of the country which they are still doing illegally without facing any repercussions for backing terrorism on a large scale and potentially using chemical weapons on civilians. Trump ran as a fake populist against Hillary Clinton who positioned herself as a hawk on foreign policy. She and Obama are largely blame for creating the international refugee crisis and crime wave that followed because of their wars in the MENA. The anti-immigrant sentiment and crime played to the advantage of the Republican. There is a long list of claims that turned out to be exaggerated or wrong. taibbi.substack.com
