Bill,
God only knows what kind of shit they are injecting in other countries and what kind of sanitary conditions people are exposed to.
Look at Chile, who is seeing a COVID-19 surge despite much of the population getting at least one dose of the vaccine from Beijing-based Sinovac:

BBC - Chile sees Covid surge despite vaccination success

There are several reasons given for the surge, though I'm not sure "vaccination success" is the right way to describe what Chile accomplished.

The main reason given is that the country released lockdowns too soon after one dose of the vaccine, when they should have waited until the second dose was administered widely.

But I suspect another reason is that China oversold the efficacy of their own vaccine. Studies around the world vary in their conclusions, from 50% to 83% efficacy. And those studies were done on people who have received two doses. Likely one dose is only marginally more effective than a placebo.

This differs significantly from what the UK experienced:

CNBC - Real-world data shows Pfizer’s Covid vaccine is giving ‘very strong’ results after one dose

I think that news led Chile into a false sense of complacency, not knowing that China's vaccine is much less effective than Pfizer's.

Just goes to show you that, once again, American ingenuity and American capitalism wins out over state-sponsored propaganda.
