You know, it has been basically moderate here since we moved here -- other than the freeze earlier this year (which left us without water for two weeks) and the rain has been heavy for the past month or six weeks.

I really haven't noticed the heat, probably because our house now has great AC compared to where we lived in AR lol.

Lots of good food and things to do here, though. So far, so good.

>> Once around 4th of July.

IN the summer of 1979 or 1980, we spent about 10 days in Houston hanging with my friend during late June & early July, and it was hot as hell. I think that was a record here.

When we got back to Dallas, I had to make a business trip out to Denver for a day, and I got in late that night and my wife had put fans in every window. Our AC was out (this was on a Friday). Man, it was hot. I believe that day it had hit something like 113. I got up bright and early on Saturday and went and found us a condenser fan motor for the AC unit so we could have air that weekend.

Man, that week was hot in Dallas...even with AC...

>> You weren't there during Harvey!

Nah, but we're pretty far from the coast.

My son was in Opelousas when that one hit at Lake Charles last year. I worried about them, but I talked to him later and he said he slept through it. About typical for him. Not easily excited...
