TJ there is one point worth mentioning and this may explain the perception about Jewish kids Most observant and/or Hassidic children start to learn the Hebrew Bible early, when I was a substituting teacher in second grade class of observant Jewish kids, they needed to have a morning prayer and later to explain several paragraphs in one of the books within the Bible. Not sure if you ever read parts of it but the Hebrew Bible, the Talmud and Gmara are all very philosophical writings and explanation of laws. The Talmud and Gmara are a collection of books that try to interpret what is written in the Bible and how to apply the writings to the day to day life (not modern life of today - GOD forbid). Therefore, if at an early age you are presented with such complex questions then obviously your mind and analytical thinking are far more developed that the other children which are not exposed to the above. However, with time to adulthood it dissipates and teenager are not above average as many cannot comprehend the deep philosophical explanations anyway and most teachers are quite average and I am not sure they understand what they teach. The net result in my case was that I disliked the Hebrew Bible because my teacher who was not smart enough. I rediscovered the deep philosophical meanings in adulthood when in NYC as many attorney's I dealt with, had the Talmud open in their office and I started reading and understanding the meaning. This in my opinion makes the difference and therefore I suggested to you that Jack should stop engaging in stupid video games that may be develop agility to respond to visual events but not thinking or evaluating situations. The CCP should include Confucius learning in schools as is in Israel

That's called putting the cart before the horse. People with the bigger brain with processing power, memory function can learn multiple languages, maths, physics, chemistry etc easily. do reckon that kids who know complicated languages, and especially if bi- / tri- / multi-lingual have some sort of smartie advantage, and am told their brain scans look different then kids who are not similarly featured As our son and I used to joke about the overly studious Chinese at Auckland Grammar = pull out a bigger brain. Studying is vastly harder than simply having brain power. As his maths teacher David Fear explained to him, the unsmart boys can't get the concepts no matter how long they try. That's why coaching SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) is of little value. Once the simple maths is learned, the test is about thinking and processing power. Same for the language part. As part of the Johns Hopkins International talent quest for 12 year olds (nominated by Antwerp International School) he sat SAT after I taught him the simple trigonometry etc required in a couple of hours. Easy peasy. It's a test for 18 year olds intending to go to university. He beat the 18 year olds easily. Was top of Auckland University at Japanese, good at Mandarin, understood French and messed around passing Latin ag school. Also did physics, chemistry, computer programming, some other stuff about Greek history. First design and build the brain. The learning part is easy. Turn brain loose. Lucky DNA, no toxins like lead, mercury, give all the right nutrients, avoid brain damage. It's cruel to try to teach children things they can't do, making them feel like failures. Noel Orams was made to stay in school for 3 years for 3 failed attempts at school cert. I thought it was cruel as I knew then he wouldn't pass and should have quit school at 15 and been a bus driver or something. A friend recently told me he did just that and was a bus driver for decades since in Wellington. Teaching multiple languages doesn’t make a bigger brain. Tim Bates is sn intelligence researcher. 20 years ago we (brother, Tim) thought we could find the right genes, patent them and sell high intelligence yo mothers to clip into their zygotes. It got too hard and the government rules would have been a problem. Tim was interested in the research side so we'd have funded his research. Unlike some genetic engineering such as huge height, having better brain design doesn't add physical problems such as blood pressure. A good analogy is your phone compared with a 1970s supercomputer. A tiny amount of space is needed. Negligible electricity. Few materials. Same with high horsepower brains. Scans show that when they think, they easily get the right answer. Dull brains light up all over and can't get it. Studying is unpleasant. Pulling out a better brain beats studying any day. Eugenics and genetic engineering is the way to go. NOT for moron governments to be in charge. Do as is now done = women choose the man who gets to make s baby. Women need better selection methods = that bloke for the general package, but take out the haemochromatosis, sickle cell anaemia, cystic fibrosis, that stomach cancer gene, and clip in the 190 IQ turbocharge without the Tay Sachs disease. Not many people wish themselves more stupid and mostly people are pleased when their feral little fools show a glimmer of light. That will be the big story of the 21st century = eugenics. Also silicon intelligence. Greenhouse Effect will be a weird worry of the 20th century barbarians. The gene pool has been improving in leaps and bounds = see Flynn Effect. Women aim high. They don't accept bottom of the barrel. They are merciless, relentless, cruel and implacable. See Tinder data for the distribution of mating males = top 5% pick and choose. Bottom 50% get nothing. Not even a click. Intelligence is a necessary but not sufficient component when women choose = across all cultures. Humour is a good guide to intelligence. Males fighting genocidal tribal war for mating rights and territory also put a lot of pressure on intelligence. Picking up a stick or stone was simply useless against high brain function with genetically engineered sars, long distance lasers, satellite Cyberphone communication and nuclear fusion energy supply, auto function 10kg and 100 gram drone aircraft and a lot more besides.
