A co-worker pointed out, just after I submitted that post, that not entering a trade unless it shows as a screaming buy or sell, is in itself a form of discipline.

Rather than look at this as a limitation on daytrading skill, or improvement is required is selecting more subtle plays, he suggested a more constructive approach may be to develop a system which allows watching a larger universe of stocks. After all, the name of the game is to enter only when you feel moves are in your direction.

Like in baseball, wait for your pitch, don't reach just because you feel you should be swinging to play the game.
