Chris-
I too have been long on MSFT for several years. Unfortunately, I sold off 40% of my position last year just over $100- so I've got a bad track record predicting this stock. I'm remaining long, but I just made my maiden foray into options by purchasing the Jan 99 130 puts at $6.00 (VMFMF.o). While Microsoft is a great company, I just don't like stocks selling over 50X earnings, over 11 times sales and 18 times book. Well the street is littered with the corpses of those who sold Gates & Co. short (or bought puts), but I figure I'll make money on MSFT if it goes up or down- so watch it do one of those sidewise numbers! Call me schizo, but me and George Soros do hedges!
