I hear that...

Even if "alternate silver" is more apropos... for its industrial utility as the cheaper and second best electrical conductor.

Rumblings this week re politics in Chile and Peru... electoneering by a leading candidate in Chile, being picked up and mirrored in Peru, suggesting it a good idea to impose a 75% exit tax on copper exports...

Linked to as posts by elmatador... here.

I've not much at risk due to that... but worth keeping an eye on re what it might mean in relation to politics shifting left in Latin America, more generally... which you might expect more of if and as hard times get harder over time ? I'm not up to speed on the issue... so, can't say if it is not exactly in synch with parallels in expropriation as seen historically... rather than intending only "profit sharing"... as the intent, perhaps... but, also that meaning a massive hit to investment... tied to the piracy of the explorers investors grub stake.

Having "been there, done that"... have miinimzed exposure... reducing participation in those I want to play... and then always pairing those with larger interest in derisked options... diversifying holdings for myself more than the companies do in their project locations...

For now... that leaves me thinking TMQ carried for half in Alaska, with major South32 only looks better...

And, SA... noting they have at least as much value in copper as they do in gold... while listing >140 million ounces gold as "proven" ?

The hole that leaves me with... is in having two worthy explorers becoming developers, only with slow burning fuses ... and no current "best in class" producers... my having sworn off of TRQ as having both jurisdictional and stupid clown management risks that I don't want to have more of...

Oh... and it has to be "on sale"... not loaded with blue sky... which limits the options ?

Open to suggestion...
