CNBC reports that Warren Buffet and his Berkshire Hathaway A group have purchased 129 million oz's since last July. He has taken delivery of 87+ million oz's and will receive the rest over the next few months. This sum now amounts to 2% of his overall holdings in BRK.
This may well have been the reason for the rise today. If so, watch for it to continue it's upward trend tomorrow now the story has broken.
