I meant tokenised physical gold w/ the physical stored at a name-brand go-to well-collateralised generally, and 1:1 collateralised in particular to gold, and domiciled in peace-friendly banking local that features a strong-enough military (or physically distributed across several gold-friendly locales all protected by nuclear weapons, and well-guarded against domestic terrorism and featuring strong anti-civil-disobedience protocol

there are already several small and publicly-traded token gold, and at least one bulge-bracket house is anticipating demand.

All physical gold ETFs should tokenise gold held, and they together w/ the physical gold exchanges should adopt an interoperable protocol that allows transfer of token gold across platforms / networks

Once done, the tokenised gold should rise in value as gold gains utility, and untokenised gold should rise faster and remain higher valued, as free gold

Of course, such a new gold schema would do considerable damage to fiat monies.

Both Ethereum and Casper are in the thick of it, and may the best platform emerge

cryptobriefing.com
... Enterprise software company HeraSoft has partnered with CasperLabs to migrate dApps and assets to the Casper Network. The partnership includes the migration of Anthem Gold, HeraSoft’s gold-back cryptocurrency.
Anthem Gold tokens are currently hosted on Hercules, a decentralized supply chain network on Ethereum.
“We look forward to working with CasperLabs to bring the most secure and scalable solutions to enterprises and to continue developing more advanced tools to support the greater Casper ecosystem,” said Anthem Blanchard, CEO of HeraSoft.
Ethereum’s scalability woes have been oft-reported, but HeraSoft’s migration comes at a particularly congested time for the network. After breaching $1,600yesterday, gas fees skyrocketed, limiting even simple token swaps on many platforms.
This is in part why HeraSoft has chosen to migrate to Casper, which boasts a throughput of 1,000 transactions per second (TPS).

UBS Quietly Advances Token Efforts With Clients
UBS has been quietly running a tokenization trial with weighty institutional investors, finews.asia has learned.
The Swiss-based bank has been offering more than 100 institutional clients access to a pilot program to tokenize real assets, a person familiar with the matter told finews.asia. The project is operating on the Ethereum platform, the person said.
This represents the next step in a push into putting assets on the blockchain and selling slices represented in coins. The project, being overseen by UBS investment banker Chetan Tolia, is looking at tokenizing traditional assets including debt, structured products, and physical gold, finews.com reported two years ago.
... UBS has long held that it is interested in distributed ledger more than it is in cryptocurrencies themselves – which represent a threat to traditional banking. The Swiss bank transacts on we.trade, blockchain-based trade finance platform, co-launched a so-called utility settlement coin with other banks, and is part of banking’s R3 blockchain consortium.
It isn’t clear how long UBS intends to run the tokenization pilot or release it more widely, or which products it is tokenizing.

Gold deposits should be distributed across many counties to prevent political confiscation, rather than in huge gold bunkers in just a few locations.
