During the Roman period the Dacians were regarded as a crack unit when employed by the military.

The Romans had it really well organised. The military were 50% Roman, 50% Foreign Legions.

Foreign Legions were front line troops. The Roman Legions were there as back up and to make sure everyone stayed happy with the Empire.
