What are the psychological tools that Trump has used to bring such human ugliness to the surface in the USA?
Opponents, critics, psychiatric professionals, comedians, and even a family member have pointed out the similarity between tRUMP, his supporters and cult members. I'd go a little further. It's not a similarity. They ARE a cult.
We saw evidence of that last week when the amber-tinted a$$hole whipped his base up into a frenzy, and this happened:
Leave tRUMP's name out of it for just a second and go research cults and cult leaders. Much has been published in the last 30 years as cult membership has risen and events have occurred, becoming news. It seems perhaps that the more complicated and frightening the world becomes, the more cults are prone to emerge. I did the research, and if tRUMPism isn't a cult, then neither was Jim Jones and his People's Temple.
Experts, social scientists, psychologists, psychiatrists, etc. universally agree on certain characteristics cult leaders all share. Some may have less, some more, but tRUMP, has them all as far as I could tell and this is how he uses them to try to bring down our democracy:

Exploits a basic human need. According to Dr. H. Steven Moffic, “the human longing for comfort leads us to seek out people or things that can soothe our fears and anxieties”.And how does he exploit this need?
By making promises that are virtually unattainable – and not typically found anywhere else in society. One word instantly comes to mind: “Wall". After all,, there where hoards hordes of murderous gangs spilling into our country from the southern border. They were headed straight to the small towns and rural communities to kill you, your wife, rape your grandmother and sell your children into sex slavery.Which brings me to my next point:
Only he has the answers to the threats to our country. Only he knows how to bring about safety again. “Everybody says so. The smartest people agree. THAT he can tell you!”C'mon… anyone can see through that nonsense! Nope…no they can't. Here's why:
In order to rope them in, cult leaders must do a couple of things:Shower people with love, praise, and promises of undying loyalty. Tell them they are better than everybody else. They deserve everything they desire. For tRUMPeteers, he's made sure he portrays himself as one of them and look what he's achieved! You can have the same and I'll help you get it.”Do whatever it takes to keep widening the divide between “us" and “them" by any means necessary, which, in the tRUMPubliCULT, is achieved by lies, lies, lies, and more lies. Once you've got them, evidence and fact is irrelevant. (Sound familiar?) It's also achieved by:Mind control. I know how “Stepford Wives" that sounds but just think about it for a minute. All cult leaders “focus on severing followers’ connections to the outside world.”, says Joe Navarro in Psychology Today. By limiting access to reality, truth and non-cult members, they are the creators of what's real. It doesn't take a genius to see that Fox News, A.M. radio, far right podcasts, Q-anon, Alex Jones, etc. fulfill that task excellently. A true tRUMPublicult member wouldn't dream of flipping on CNN or NPR nor would they ever read the Washington Post, Mother Jones or Politico. Talk to a tRUMPeteer for 5 minutes. All they do is repeat what their leader has said, nearly verbatim.This is all just the tip of the iceberg. I've gone into more detail in other answers which I'll include at the bottom, but something I don't believe I've touched on so specifically before and is particularly poignant now is:
Cult leaders thinks they are above the law. tRUMP pretty much says/does whatever he wants if he thinks it serves him. Until the last week, tag-a-long tRUMPeteers just stand aside while he lies about, persecutes, harasses or harms anyone he wants. He saw nothing wrong with trying to get the Ukrainian president to get dirt on Biden or the Russians on Hillary. He thinks it's funny to grab women by the pussy, after all…he's a celebrity so they let him do it and he could murder someone in the middle of Times Square and he wouldn't lose one supporter, or some such nonsense…except that's probably true!Likewise, the cult must believe this as well. If our former president had called Georgia's secretary of state demanding that he “find votes", the GOP and probably the Dems as well, would've lost their minds and served Obama's head on a platter at the next State of the Union address. Can you imagine? But tRUMP does it and it's justified as far as he and his flock of sheep are concerned.The bottom line is that the wanna-be first dynastic emperor of America (there would be no more United States) uses manipulation of the disenfranchised, frightened, angry and confused in this country for his own objectives. He wraps it all up in a crispy, starched white klan robe to further his “us" “them” agend, agenda they eat it all up and can't get enough.
He uses sophisticated mind-control techniques through the media, religious broadcasters and radio talk-show hosts. It’s a black-and-white, all-or-nothing, good-versus-evil, authoritarian view of reality that is mostly fear-based. And there’s a deliberate focus on denying facts in order to protect the image of the leader. Ask a follower about his con jobs, his infidelities, the tens of thousands of lies he's told and what do they tell you? “Sure, he's a sinner, a little rough around the edges but he wants what's best for us. He wants to get our country back on track and we'll do whatever we can to help him do that.”
I don't know how to break his spell or how to deprogram the tRUMPubliCULT and introduce truth, reality and facts into the void, but I know something MUST be done. If not, tRUMP, his cult, violence, injury and death will only escalate. I also fear that when tRUMP ceases to exists, and I pray He'll hell is a real place, there are 10 more possibly more savvy, more intelligent “tRUMPs" waiting in the wings to take his place.
