Raintree nursery is my favorite online shop. Otherwise my trees come from HD and Lowe's, I prefer combination trees just so I can get more variety in the space. I have 10 varieties of cherry, 10 varieties of apple, and 8 varieties of pear. Plus an assortment of grapes and miscellaneous small fruit (blueberries, strawberries, purple/yellow/black/red raspberries etc.). I've discovered that golden thyme in addition to tasting great and being easy to care for, makes an excellent ornamental ground cover. I have a couple of patches overflowing from the front yard into the city's "ditch".

One of the best ways to get rid of the leaf pests is to spray a diluted dishwashing soap onto the leaves. You will have to do it once a week while they are in season, but it is a cheap solution and it is environmentally friendly.

PS Just finished the last pear graft. I hope it works out. It is a bosc pear and I really like bosc.

PPS Just sold ES@4205...maybe gardening does change my luck for the better.
