Anyone have any shorts called in? I got notice today that I may have (get this) 100 shares bought in tomorrow (Wednesday). The stock loan post at my brokerage (Scotia McLeod) said that they found a small number of shares, but "had to pay an arm and a leg for them" (whatever that means). I wonder if there are any behind the scenes efforts to jack up the share price, in order to support an equity offering by the company? - Daniel

Crane failed miserably with the Archistrat 4s. Tens of millions of dollars invested, yet sales (or barter) of only hundreds. The bottom line was that artsy, overpriced, modular PCs/servers didn't sell. What is "Rock City"? Yet another artsy, overpriced, modular PC, but this time, the target customer base is even more limited. How many GenX'rs are looking for "lifestyle appliances" for up to $12,000? The development of the "Rock City" concept occurred as early as 1994, at Crane's insistence, with absolutely no marketing studies were ever being done. Likewise, the Archistrat 4s/4b development occurred as early as 1992, at Crane's insistence, with absolutely no marketing studies ever being done. Yes, this will be yet another significant failure for Crane and Panda in 1998! Happy shorting, Ryan
