There are several alternatives to FB, but it is so entrenched that, despite their blatant censorial biases, losing any significant number of users is unlikely. Contacts are made, games are saved, special features are attractive, so people don't or won't make the effort to move. Change is also very hard and we're wired to avoid it if at all possible. I've read that 1/3 of the people on the planet use their platform, so there is a miniscule chance that another social media site could overtake them.

I have my own reasons for not using them, and they couldn't care less. They already have a captured audience, so there is a fixed permanence that would be hard to displace . Our only hope is if they are found to be operating in a monopolistic, or otherwise illegal manner. The censorship of certain Americans might be a way forward for lawmakers, but I have no idea what, if any kind of law(s) may have been broken?
