Tue 3 Feb 98 News Release
Mr Stephen Swift reports

The company is entering the embedded systems market with its next
generation compression technologies. As part of the process, Image Power is
working to port its technologies to the Windows CE operating system as well
as to embedded processors used in various office products and consumer
appliances.

The company has begun talks with several microprocessor semiconductor
companies or chip vendors who provide chips for consumer appliances such as
faxes, printers, and personal digital assistants. Providing highly
efficient compression technologies to the chip market enables office
products and consumer appliance manufacturers to deliver next generation
products at lower prices. For example, multifunction peripherals, a new
class of color imaging product combining fax, copying, printing and
scanning capabilities in one device, require next generation compression
technologies to meet low cost levels for consumer markets.

The Internet market requires compression technology to transfer documents
and images rapidly. The solution provided by Image Power is to effectively
shrink the content by compressing the file size up to one twentieth of the
original size. Image Power's power compressor and viewer products are
designed to meet this growing market.
