NCMountainGirl Don't lose heart. No, the white supremacists are not winning. This is the last hurrah of a movement that has freaked out with the burgeoning number of mixed race Americans. I live in a house built In 1967 by a corrupt, white supremacist, Wallace style populist Democrat political opperative. But his black sheep grandson married a woman he met as a soldier in Vietnam. Their mixed race children, unlike most of their peers in this low-income backwater county, are now both mid six -figure corporate executives in the thriving urban municipalities in the Carolinas. Their mixed race* young adult children have a lot more going for them then than the local Madison County high school dropout kids of the white supremacists down the road * One of their sons married a Roman Catholic and converted, which certainly has his white Appalachian Baptist ancestors spinning in their graves. But their daughter had an entry level career position upon college graduation while the locals have a part time job at a rural convenience store after high school.
