I have been in qcom for about 3 weeks now and bought some last week on the small pull back. I have enjoyed reading this thread but I cant now see how there could be any shorts here.

It sounds like Qcom has the European standard lock up and the rest of world will follow soon. The second important fact is MO prediction that digital cellphones will reach 90% market share this year and with a better marketing campaign Qcom should take off like a rocket IMHO.

Joe,

<<James the sales guy said they just got a shipment of QCP-2700s, you know the one that has dual modes (digital/analog) for $149.>>

But I should mention that outer box cover was NOT labeled with the dual modes/bands, unlike the inner box. After James conferred with GTE phone store, we learned that the phone only worked in Digital mode, and thus justified the $149 price. I didn't ask whether phone also really worked in Analog mode (but not on GTE network) or that it was hardwired accordingly.

By the way, I'll let you know if I find a mail order outlet (via Qualcomm or specialty magazine).
