One would think what you say is common sense!?

Since you brought it up, I'll throw in my two cents on 'Obummercare'. My wife and I purchased insurance through the exchanges since the program's inception. With both of us self employed we no longer had to worry about pre-existing conditions, which was nice. 2015 was the one year I really needed it, as I had a nasty bought with kidney stones that required a three day hospital stay, a CT scan, an inpatient procedure, and an outpatient procedure, along with a PET scan and other tests later that year. My BC/BS ACA policy covered everything very nicely, no questions asked. Now Biden has removed the income caps for subsidies, so more folks who need it can actually buy it. So, this 'lemming' has a very different view. Yeah, it's not perfect and we can talk all day about the problems on the cost side, but for me it was a positive step. As for blindly following the D's, I always keep in mind what the R's stand for by periodically listening to Reagan's speech about how Medicare would be the 'end of the Republic'.

Well John, if you view my posts, I have repeatedly stated I am for one of two options:
1. Outlaw all health insurance(free market forces the health industry to become competitive in which health is treated like fast food(your 3 day stones adventure costs $500 like a $5 happy meal). You may think this is crazy, but hospitals across the country were on the verge of going BK due to Covid because people were so afraid of Covid they wouldn't go to a hospital. Even hospitals rely on supply and demand. That's why every other commercial on TV is a big pharma screed.
2. Medicare for all. And I mean all. Starting with Congress and CEO's. The same level of care for the president and the local school janitor.

The Obamacare fiasco is a hideous travesty of "healthcare"... Despite your one time experience.
More typical is waiting months to see your 'primary' doctor so you can then get a battery of tests, no firm decision, another round of delays then eventually 3 years later discover you have had cancer which is now terminal and un-treatable but could have been treated if "discovered" at the beginning. But hey, it's more profitable this way so awesome!

Oh, and I've heard plenty of stories like this one...which is currently happening to a very good friend of mine.
