Yes, and they are going to beat estimates by 20% $0.12 vs. $0.10, have a positive call, get another upgrade, stock moves to 24, etc. <VBG>

But seriously, you just have to love how low the bar is set for Cymer. Four more quarters of beating estimates, at least!

Maybe some of the expenses (e.g. R&D) can be written off as one-time charge? Does anyone else feel this company's management has Clinton style with words? How badly could it hurt to tell the truth with plain English? Can the A-team just tell use the earning range in dollar and cents of the next quarter that they feel comfortable with?

CORRECTED - Cymer <CYMI.O> sees weak Q1 =1

SAN DIEGO, Jan 29 (Reuters) - Cymer Inc said Thursday it
expects earnings per share for its first quarter to be between
10 percent and 15 percent lower (not $0.10 and $0.15 lower)
than fourth quarter levels of $0.24 per diluted share.
The company said in a statement the current Asian economic
crisis coupled with the ongoing DRAM supply/demand imbalance,
is expected to reduce first quarter revenues by 10 to 15
percent from fourth quarter levels of $59 million.
Cymer also said it plans to increase research and
development investments in the coming year and expand its
global service and support network.
Earlier Cymer reported fourth quarter net income of $7.2
million, or $0.24 per diluted share, on revenues of $59 million
compared to net income of $3.5 million, or $0.12 per diluted
share, on revenues of $27.6 million in the year-ago quarter.
Cymer supplies excimer laser illumination sources for deep
ultraviolet photolithography.
