Claire Jordan Worked at National Health Service (NHS) Would Trump have really won in a landslide if he’d actively promoted masks, social distancing, etc., and if he had gotten his vaccine publicly instead of in secret? Probably not by a landslide, but he could well have won by the same narrow margin as before, if he had made an effort to do his job, encouraged responsible behaviour, expressed public sympathy to the bereaved and encouragement to the sick etc etc. For somebody who is quite good at working a crowd, a crisis like this should have been a gift - if he had had the slightest ability to feel, or even fake, any empathy or care for the American people. True, he could've won if he'd been capable as President.
