Implicit in my comment is that with the final year of a four year term being wiped out by the virus, it is hardly sensible to consider that year as somehow a knock on his performance. No president could have kept GDP moving or unemployment coming down in that environment.

So, I presume you would not dock his excellent performance throughout for that circumstance. If you want to compare the work performance of anyone, you might compare how they handled a crisis but if the crisis consequences clearly are not within the control of that person's job performance, you normally would not dock them for it.

I think his performance during the overall crisis was superior in every respect and saved untold numbers of lives. His only failing was in listening to Fauci, which he really didn't have much choice about. We could have saved 100,000s of lives had he told Fauci to fuck off and put in place a program to make HCQ (and later, Ivermetcin) protocols available to everyone on a same-day basis. That is what should have been done, but probably no president would have had the political ability to do that with an ignorant and lying media working against him.
